We often here the phrase, Know Your Numbers! For sure, this is a good idea. Knowing your numbers helps you know where you are! What numbers? Tire pressure? Weight? What?
These 5 suggested ideas will help you monitor areas of your everyday that will promote better health and living.
#1 How Many Steps Do You Take a Day?
Most know the recommended number is 10,000. This can be tough for someone who sits at their job or struggles in other ways to get those steps in. When you know the number of steps you take, for example, you know your average is 2,250. Okay – that is ok. What that can do is to encourage to take another lap around the super market, park further from the door, walk to the neighbors house or any range of ideas that just knowing may create.
#2 Know Your Blood Pressure.
The standard reading for a healthy blood pressure is 120/80. Each individual is different, but you want to know what general range your blood pressure is. If you continually have high blood pressure, it will take a toll. Know your blood pressure and seek solutions to keep it in a healthy range.
#3 Know Your non-HDL Cholestrol
This is a full cholestrol reading that takes both your good and bad cholestrol readings and gives a result to tell how much plaque producing fat may be in your blood. The lower the better.
#4 Blood Sugar
Knowing your blood sugar is more important than ever with today’s menus and fast foods etc. High Blood sugar can cause diabetes and other complications. Likewise, too low blood sugar, hyperglucemia has different results.
#5 How Many Hours of Sleep do you get Each Day?
Each individual is different but we feel we can recommend that a 7 hour sleep requirement for each day is a safe bet. No less than 6. Sleep provides your body time to recouperate and adjust and prepare for the new day. Give it the time it needs. Practice good sleep habits by going to bed and rising at the same time each day.
